The Photography and Film exhibition presents photography as a cultural technique that is significantly influenced by the equipment used for recording and reproduction. It covers the early days of photography with the camera obscura and laterna magica and continues right up to digitalisation over the past few decades. The focus is on the period from 1839, when the invention of photography made it possible for the first time to permanently reproduce and fix (stablise) images of real life.
