Planning a Visit with School and Day Care

Educational institutions can book a programme or use the preparation and accompanying material. We also have tips for schools and day care centres on how to visit on their own.

Purchasing Tickets
Regular admission costs €4.50 for pupils. Children up to 6 years of age have free admission.
School membership: At €0.60 per pupil from your school per year, this might be interesting?
In groups with ten children or more, one accompanying person is free. The regulations on group size and accompanying persons as well as all other information can be found on the Admission Fees page.

Demonstrations and Science Shows
What's on today: Discover science LIVE! We offer a programme that changes daily. Participation is usually included in the museum admission. Groups can also take part in the demonstration at the high-voltage system and the science shows in the Hall of Honour. To the daily programme

Time Factor
Please allow enough time for dropping off items at the cloakroom, toilet breaks or snacks. It is best to choose an exhibition in advance that you would like to explore with the group. The paths in the museum are long and should not be underestimated.

Bags and small backpacks can be taken along. Larger bags, backpacks and luggage can be left at the cloakroom or locked in one of the lockers. More about the cloakroom and lockers
We offer a picnic room where you can eat what you have brought with you. The self-service restaurant is unfortunately closed for modernisation. Yes, children with a current Munich Holiday Pass have free admission to the Deutsches Museum and its Munich branch museums.
The Kid's Kingdom is open to children from 3 to 8 years and their adult companions without registration. Only groups need to book their visit in advance. All information can be found on the Kid's Kingdom page.

We recommend that visitors aged 16 and over wear an FFP2 mask in the museum. Children between the ages of six and 15 should wear a medical mask. There is no obligation to wear a mask.
Our regular daily programme "Discover Science LIVE!" offers various demonstrations and guided tours every day. It is generally open to individual visitors, families and small groups of up to 5 people.
