From 30 September to 3 October, we are expecting a lot of visitors, October 3 is a public holiday in Germany. Our 19 new exhibitions in the completely renovated part of the building will attract many interested visitors. We are delighted about the great interest and the many visitors who have come to the Deutsches Museum on the Museum Island since it opened its new exhibitions on 8 July 2022.

Here are some tips for a relaxed visit:

Buy tickets online

Unfortunately, queues form at our on-site ticket counters when there is a high volume of visitors. One of the reasons for this is that we have to adhere to a visitor cap and slow down the sales speed when we approach the cap. Tip: Buy your ticket in our online ticket shop and go directly to the entrance with it. In our online shop you have to select a time slot, i.e. you choose the time at which you want to start your visit and can then stay in the museum for as long as you like.

Get rid of baggage

Backpacks and larger bags are not allowed in the museum. Use our free cloakroom or the lockers (€1 deposit) on level 1, where there is also access to the exhibition areas. You can also eat and drink in this cloakroom area, which is not allowed in our exhibitions - to protect our valuable exhibits.

Have a break

Visit our roof terrace restaurant or our small gastro areas for a break in between. In the entrance area on level 0 or on level 1 between Atomic Physics and Classical Optics, we offer coffee specialities, small snacks and drinks. You can take a rest in our intermediate zones, where there is seating and you can also see the current programme of the day on the screens installed there.
