Hang glider
Flight Design Exxtacy
The “Exxtacy“ is one of the most modern hanging gliders, with a cantilever, unbraced wing. Due to its progressive layout, its flight performance is comparable to the one of the training glider Grunau Baby of the 1930s. The primary element of the wing is designed as a cantilever box spar made of carbon-fiber reinforced plastic. The ribs and wing tip sections also consist of this material. The “Exxtacy“ is controlled by means of body shifting, by spoilers on top of the wings. In the wing center, plain flaps are integrated. They allow lift augmentation in thermic flight, and more effective glide ratio control upon landing.
