About us
Volunteering at the Deutsches Museum
We have been supported by numerous volunteers for many years.
Volunteers have been working successfully in the exhibition area since 1996 and have become an integral part of everyday museum life. There are currently 184 volunteers working at the Deutsches Museum. Not all of them have a scientific or technical background; persons from other professions also enjoy working at the museum. Together they support the permanent staff in their daily work and thus help to improve our services - because our staffing levels are nowhere near sufficient for the standard we would like to offer.
Volunteering at the Deutsches Museum is an exciting opportunity for retired people who are looking for a new challenge, who want to remain active in their field of expertise and pass on their knowledge to the younger generation. In addition to working in the exhibitions, there are also other areas in which volunteers support us (e.g. in the guest house of the Kerschensteiner Kolleg, secretarial work in the office for guided tours and for the amateur radio or amateur astronomy departments).
