Nothing lasts forever, not even our home planet. In about one billion years, the Sun will grow bright enough to boil Earth’s oceans, putting an end to life on our planet. Then it will keep expanding until It turns into a red giant, roasting our home to the bones. And in some five billion years, it will get so large that its edges will brush against our planet, slowing its orbit down and making it spiral inwards. You are watching Earth’s final instant – the moment when it will collide with its parent star to become dust again.
Last moment of the planet Earth. The heated remains of the atmosphere are being swept away by the red giant Sun.
